Read below to see what the 4th grade students had to say about this project!

After lots of brain storming, we came up with Sacagawea.

She was a very important person in history, yet she did not get the recognition she deserved. I am the script writer, Asha. You may think being a script writer is a piece of cake, but it isn’t.  Especially working with two other script writers. All of us have great ideas, but usually they are all different. And the most important key to be a script writer is to know where to find your information. When I type in Sacagawea on some sites, Lewis and Clark are there, and Sacagawea’s name is not even mentioned. This experience has been amazing. One of my favorite parts was being in front of the green screen. It was so awkward. When I saw the video after I was like, “I should have done this,” and “I should have done that.”  All in all, this has been a great experience and I would love to do it again.

I really enjoyed doing the Sacagawea BrainPOP!  Our class came up with the Sacagawea theme because we had just finished learning about the Lewis and Clark expedition in social studies.  I was the Q and A, (questions and answers) maker.  We thought of questions that people who watch the BrainPOP might wonder.  Then, we wrote answers using Microsoft PowerPoint.  The hardest part of our job was researching to get answers.  There were only a few websites about Sacagawea; so we had to do a lot of searching. My favorite part was filming in front of the green screen, a wall painted green that we could change the background.  Over all, there wasn’t anything too tricky.  It was a lot of fun!

I was a graphic artist for our BrainPOP. A tip for being a graphic artist is make sure the website you’re using is okay, because I used a website called Kerpoof and something was wrong with my account. I had to do one picture four times before I got to print it! A tip is ALWAYS save! I chose to be a graphic artist because I like to draw. Even though making a BrainPOP had its challenges, it was really fun. If you ever decide to do a BrainPOP it’s really fun.

I kind of liked doing this BrainPOP. I was a graphic designer. You saw my pictures like the one with Sacagawea looking at the ocean or the one with the map of the route Lewis & Clark took on the Lewis & Clark Expedition. I also made the E in Liberty on the Sacagawea coin (By the way my name starts with E!). It was kind of hard to do the pictures. I tried my best to do details like on the title picture. It was really hard to decide what kind of programs I would use during the making of the video. Some other friends volunteered to help do the pictures. Jonathan, who was playing Moby, also helped out. It was also hard that we had to go by what the script writers said. They had planned out all the pictures that would go together in the script and we had to make all of them. But I wasn’t alone doing this. My friends Emma and Ananya helped with pictures like the family room with and the capsized boat. It was also exciting being on the green screen. It was pretty hard to only look at the camera, because you could see me on the computer screen as well. It was funny to watch everybody else on the green screen.  Even our teacher Ms. Gatewood made mistakes in the movie!

Standing in front of the green screen felt like standing in front of a regular wall that was green. We did a Brain POP on Sacagawea because we were learning about her and noticed there wasn’t one on BrainPOP.com. Our parts for the Brain POP were chosen by auditions. First we got a card and numbered our top three picks. We tried out for the parts then and got them. I thought it was hard to find all the facts. We had to surf the web and list them. I liked making the video. I was Moby and I liked being him. I got to wear the Moby costume and also got to be a comic writer. It was really fun and I liked doing it.

I did the crossword, hangman, and picture hangman.  If I were to do it again I would definitely have researched more though. It was hard because you had to know a lot of the words you put on the project. Wyatt helped with making suggestions and ideas for hangman and the crossword. I loved doing the video because I got to be with my friends and we got to do a lot of fun stuff. It was hard because you had to look at the camera at all times and you couldn’t look down but if you did you would see it. The green screen was scary though because you only had one shot to do it.

In the BrainPOP, London and I were your QUIZ makers. At first, it looked so hard, but then I realized it is so easy to make it! Some of the questions might trick you and some of the questions are funny and some from the movie. I hope you like the movie because I sure did! KCD is the best school ever that I have been to!!!

Being a Q & A person was very hard.   You had to come up with so many questions.  Then you had to find all the answer.  The Q &A was very a stressful job.  Google was very helpful for finding information & pictures.  My favorite part was making the Q&A pretty. For the Q&A we did this on PowerPoint. It was so fun.  Being in front of the green was awesome. If I had to do it again I would.

It was difficult being a script writer and takes a lot of time. You have to have a guideline to get started. It’s kind of like a timeline because you go from the first major thing to the last major thing. It will take about 2 weeks to get it all settled. We got the topic of Sacagawea by researching and we know a lot about her. But even if you know it well it is a difficult task just to get started. We choose parts by writing them down and handing them in. Then, we divided the parts equally. The teacher call out the parts and we got right to work. We had some issues when we got started. The main problem about script writing is that it has Sacagawea had a long fascinating live from start to finish. If it is a very long historical life you will go overboard some times and forget what the topic is.

This BrainPOP was actually pretty fun. I was a comic person, and it was pretty hard. But I had other friends that helped me. Their names are Lulu, Jonathan, and Asha. We made all different types of comics, for example, funny comics, comics that made no sense at all, and more. All of my friends’ jobs were cool. My top three that I liked were graphic artist, comics, and script writing. Anyways, it was pretty fun, if I rated it, it would be a 5/10. The green screen was really the fun part.

The topic of Sacagawea was started because in social studies we were talking about settling west. There was also no Brain POP on Sacagawea. Choosing parts was not too hard. We already had an idea of who was who. Many people finished their part and helped someone else out. I was originally a script writer but, Tim (Junaid) thought he wanted to try something else. So, I also was Tim. Working with Jonathan (Moby) was fun although sometimes it would get out of control. Ms. Gatewood came up with some great ideas that we used. The “green screen” was fun. Over all, this project was fun.

Hello I am the activities maker.  Jordan helped me make them, except for the timeline.   Brain pop doesn’t have a show on Sacagawea, but she is on the Lewis and Clark one.  We each took a card and wrote our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices so then it gave the teachers a better idea what person should be what.  It was fun making the activities using SMART Notebook.  We had to keep it secret from the other classes, but it was hard because Micah has a twin brother in another class.  That is all I have to say about our BrainPOP.

I really enjoyed making the Sacagawea BrainPOP! I was a graphic artist, so the people in my group and I got to make the scenes. Our class came up with the Sacagawea theme because there is no BrainPOP on her. [That is, until now!]  Also, in social studies, we were just learning about her. I’ve always loved to draw, so when we picked which part we wanted most, I put graphic artist FIRST! Being in front of the green screen was very exciting!  We just wanted to look at other things in the room!  The BrainPOP! Is pretty good! I hope you enjoy it!
