Dee Anna has been teaching middle school for twenty years. She
graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas,
with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education
(Grades 1-8) in 1986. She earned her Master's of Education Degree
at the same university in 1987. She taught
four years at Memorial Parkway Junior High in Katy, TX, before moving out
of the
country.
The next
two years
she
taught eighth grade English and sixth grade math and science at the Escuela
Americana in
San Salvador,
El Salvador. Her next move was to Santiago, Chile, where she taught sixth
grade at
Nido de Aguilas for four years. She spent a half year teaching seventh and eighth
grade English at the Pingry School in New Jersey before she landed here in
Louisville at Kentucky
Country
Day.
Here she is currently in
her tenth year teaching language arts/English in the middle school. When
not teaching, Dee Anna is active in traveling, cycling, and hiking.
She usually finds a way to travel outside the country at least
once a year. While here at KCD, her trips have included Japan,
England, France, Venezuela, Chile, and The Netherlands.
